Memorable film. Thanks!
Easy to identify SCAP’S hand in the film.
Keep up the good uploading of these Japanese movie🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰 classics.
One of the best film noir ever! The bar scene with La Paloma playing is beyond surreal.
a growing selection of fine films…
This is the prototype for LETHAL WEAPON! And much better in fact! Amazing film!
As far as I can tell, I've done everything necessary for subtitles to appear. Yet I get none in this Kurosawa film, the newly posted Ichiwara flick, or any of the OLD Films Revival Project offerings. Has anyone else run into this problem?
Mifune looks like a high school graduate.
I remember seeing this when I was a kid on the late late movie. At the time, all the WWII veterans were still around, so I inherited their hatred of Japan. I remember thinking when I saw this movie that, maybe, they weren't so bad. One of my uncles was in the 77th Division in the Philippines and Okinawa and he was the toughest man I know. I wouldn't have shared this thought with him in a million years.
