Parts 1&2 of 6
1995-1998 – The Ninagawa Company staged this production of Hamlet, performing in both Japan and England at the Barbican Center. During their run in England, Hiroyuki Sanada was approached by members of the Royal Shakespeare Company and asked if he would be interested in the role of The Fool in the RSC production of King Lear. This opportunity lead Sanada to learn Shakespearean English and eventually to the role of Ujio in The Last Samurai, which would become his first role in a Hollywood film.
For a long time I looked for a full copy of this performance. Even though this recording is not of the best quality, I am grateful that I was able to watch the full performance. I hope that other fans, as well as fans of Shakespeare will watch! 🙂
Thank you so much to all members of the Ninagawa Production for their hard work and effort in the creation of this performance! Thank you as always to Sanada Hiroyuki for the hard work and inspiration.

I haven't seen this one either. He has so many movies. I need a weekend to watch them all around the clock. Lol. Having insomnia helps too.❤
